AO Drones takes to the skies with formidable ‘Thank You’ for frontline heroes – Drones Information
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – AO Drones, the specialized drone light show provider, recently played a key role in an unforgettable event to thank frontline workers in Dubai for their heroic service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was designed and produced by AO Drones ‘producer, Marco Niedermeier, and combined a breathtaking aerial view of AO Drones’ sophisticated fleet of drones, as well as a special message from rescue vehicles that had written “Thank you” in English and Arabic. The entire event was recorded in a short film, made in the style of a dramatic action film and widely distributed on social media.
To realize the event, Niedermeier asked friends from Dubai’s event production network, including Done Events, GTV Film Productions and Brand Dubai. Together, they received support from the government of Dubai and authorities such as the Dubai Police, the Road and Transport Authorities, the Media Office and others. “Everyone wanted to get involved,” says Niedermeier. “We wanted to thank everyone.”
Due to the COVID-19 blockage in Dubai, all planning meetings were carried out via video conferencing platforms and operations on site were carried out in accordance with the guidelines for safe working.
The film of the event, which took place on June 11, began with aerial footage of support messages seen on famous Dubai landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa, before following the emergency vehicles along the Sheikh Zayed Road, which were used for the public transport occasion were blocked – converge on the exhibition page. The film culminated in spectacular aerial photos of the thank you messages on site and the grand finale of AO Drones’ aerial photo exhibition, which was carried out by a fleet of 120 precisely choreographed drones operated by Kevin Niedermeier, the responsible AO drone pilot.
The 10.5-minute show featured images, including a portrait in the light of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, the flag of the United Arab Emirates, as well as scenes depicting social distancing and washing hands and face masks. Finally, the drones formed the motto “#StrongerTogether”, which was introduced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and “Thank You” to honor the heroes on the frontline against COVID-19.
“It was amazing to see people’s reactions,” says Niedermeier. “Most of them had never seen a drone show before. When the drones appeared, it was a wow moment. “
The response to the show was overwhelmingly positive and soon became a talk with the city. “His Highness Sheikh Hamdan published the film on social media,” says Niedermeier. “The word immediately spread and people are still talking about it weeks later.”
He sums up: “We’ve only received great feedback, and everyone involved has been so happy to be able to do something so memorable for our people on the front line.”
