(Riga, Bern, Oakland) – Drone Show Software from SPH Engineering, a Riga-based UgCS software developer and integration service provider for unmanned aerial systems, as well as Swiss Drone Show, a European event agency with a focus on drone show solutions, and Pinnacle Festivals The leading US producer of theme-based immersive event experiences has announced an international partnership for the development of drones
Outdoor light show solutions tailored to ski areas. The aim is to advance the WOW applications for drones in winter, including those manageable in the mountains and at low temperatures.
Drone shows are a fresh and sought-after form of entertainment that combines technology and art. With live events limited during the 2020 global pandemic, watching shows from a distance is becoming increasingly popular. The drone show industry is thus proving to be one of the most promising solution providers for outdoor events in the new normal.
“Since 2017, SPH Engineering’s Drone Show Software team has offered the only commercially available software for managing outdoor light shows that control up to hundreds of drones. We look forward to taking this step forward and bringing together global experts in knowledge, creativity and technology sharing.Share our experiences from different show scenarios. “
Alexey Dobrovolsky, CTO of SPH Engineering, comments.
“The 1,000+ drone shows that were recorded high in the mountains for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics have shown that drones can do their job in low temperatures. Last year, the Swiss Drone Show accepted the challenge of the St. Moritz ski area in Switzerland to organize a festive light show with 100 drones and wishes the resort visitors a Happy New Year in an innovative way. The creative part involved several local stories. From a technical point of view, we had to find a way to adapt the batteries to the cold temperature, ”explains Marc Loosli, CTO & co-founder of the Swiss Drone Show.
“We are proud that the ski resort is satisfied with the experience and would like to host another drone show as a COVID-19 rule complaint event to celebrate the New Year 2021.”
“Pinnacle Festivals is excited about the opportunity to illuminate the night skies of ski resorts. We are grateful to our European partners who have agreed to advise us on best practices for winter drone shows to ensure that the drone show is well performed as a WOW solution, taking into account size and temperature constraints. A drone show is a very flexible event element: it can be performed as a single real show or integrated into any night show mixed with fireworks, lasers, sound and music, or viewed as a small WOW effect performance. We recently developed a so-called “3-drone demo” case. This unique way of packaging drone show equipment enables quick, easy and safe delivery of everything that is required for small test activities in any US location, ”explains John Eric Henry, director of the Pinnacle Festivals.
