Goodwood Aerodrome and Throughout Security Growth accomplice to offer unparalleled amenities to the UAV trade – Drones Information

In an exciting new partnership, the Aviation Innovation Center opens at the Goodwood Aerodrome, providing a solution for the UAV industry to develop, test, test and showcase new technology.

It is the first of its kind in the UK at a time when the aviation industry is heavily focused on developing commercial unmanned technologies and the CAA in the UK is seeing a significant increase in requests for approval of UAV operations.

With a focus on the UAV, UTM and UAM sectors, the center brings together a wide range of services and facilities, including:

Separate air space to facilitate BVLOS operations. The availability currently covers a circle with a radius of 9 km around the airfield, which offers a range of 270 km2 in largely rural areas. ·

A selection of landing sites outside the airfield in controlled areas within the segregated airspace to facilitate UAV delivery attempts. ·

Aerodrome facilities, including air traffic services, 3 grass runways, on-site fire fighting and internal security services

A controlled ground area within the perimeter of the airfield

Short or long-term access to offices, meeting rooms and hangar areas

World class event hosting facilities

The center also offers competent support to assist customers with the following tasks:

CAA submissions, authorizations and exceptions such as the preparation of ConOps, operational security cases and specific assessments of operational risk (SORA)

A CAA-certified, on-site assessment body that offers online and classroom-based pilot training and certification, as well as specialty courses such as “Coordination with multiple crew members”.

The availability of qualified remote pilots and observers

We are very excited to be working with Across Safety on the launch of the Aviation Innovation Center at the Goodwood Aerodrome. Our range of facilities in combination with the industry expertise of Across Safety offers the ideal solution for the development, testing, testing or presentation of unmanned aviation technologies in companies. Our goal is to be Europe’s leading UAV technology center.

Anthony Venetz, Managing Director of Across Safety Development, said:

The unmanned aviation industry is at a crucial moment. Commercial unmanned aerial systems, urban air mobility, unmanned traffic management and counter-drone systems are expected to grow exponentially over the next few years. There is a clear need for a center that supports technological and operational innovation without lengthy delays in establishing safe airspace and ground areas. Goodwood, near London and Gatwick, is the perfect place for this.
