Hidden Stage, Uber Elevate announce airspace monitoring collaboration – Drones Information
Hidden Level, a venture-backed company specializing in low-altitude airspace surveillance, today announced a collaboration with Uber Elevate. Together, the companies want to improve the security of urban air mobility in the United States’ national airspace system.
Uber Elevate is Uber’s initiative to promote safe, reliable, clean and affordable air mobility services through networks of vertical electric takeoff and landing vehicles (eVTOL). Through this partnership, Hidden Level and Uber Elevate have agreed to share their expertise in designing and deploying scalable airspace operations based on data generated with sensors specially developed by Hidden Level that are strategically installed in dense urban environments.
“Hidden Level is committed to using our state-of-the-art sensor technology service to safely increase the density of low-altitude airspace operations, including the future with Urban Air Mobility,” said Jeff Cole, CEO of Hidden Level. “This partnership with Uber Elevate reflects our shared vision to make innovative technology solutions a priority, which we call SensingTM security.”
“The Uber platform was built with security in mind, and the Uber Elevate team is committed to building on the strict safety standards of the aviation industry when we offer our drivers this new form of on-demand air mobility,” said Tom Prevot, Director of airspace systems. “Our partnership with Hidden Level aims to improve our ability to demonstrate how Uber Air will meet industry security standards and we look forward to working with them in the years to come.”

Uber was founded with a simple vision: tap a button, go with it. Since then, we have developed into a transport network that allows you to get from point A to point B by car, bicycle, scooter and public transport – and in the not too distant future also with flights. Uber Air is our most ambitious vision for this future. Just as skyscrapers allowed cities to use limited land more efficiently, Uber Air would fly to the sky to reduce congestion on the ground and allow drivers to push a button for a shared flight.
