Prismatic one other collection of profitable flight trials accomplished – Drones Information

In the first two weeks of October, a contingent of Prismatic employees traveled to Spain with masks and gel in hand to carry out a series of flight tests with the UAVs PHASE-8 and LASA-5 in the ATLAS (Air Traffic Laboratory for Advanced Unmanned Systems) Test facility.

The main aim of the flight tests was to train the flight crew for the future PHASA 35 flights, which are scheduled for 2021. Many flights with the PHASE-8 flight attendant were made to train the crews in all aspects of take-off. Landing, flight control, weather and mission management needed for these future trials. In addition, Prismatic tested its new LASA-5 system with a number of successful test flights to verify the performance of this novel design and to collect valuable flight data.

Jacob Oakley – GCS Commander and Chief Systems Engineer said, “The attempt really helped bring the crews together to work as a team and prepared us for next year’s P35 flight.”

The team, made up of many young engineers who worked well together as a team to carry out a large number of flights in a short period of time. Rich Millar commented, “I am very proud to work with a team at Prismatic that is so professional and made up of people who are mostly under 30 years of age.”

One of our pilots, Jamie Hope, commented: “I have done various flight tests with other companies and was amazed at how much has been achieved in such a short time.”

The trials were a great way to build the team. Matt Wilson, one of our BAE representatives, said, “I’m really looking forward to the next flight attempts. It is a very rewarding exercise that will put you at your best and show how we can keep ourselves pushing the boundaries of ability. “

It wasn’t all hard work, there were opportunities for cycling and walking in the Spanish countryside. The team was also spoiled with excellent food on site.

Prismatic thanks the team for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the process that led to such a resounding success.
