UAVtek Awarded Drone Innovation Award 2020 – Drones Information
UAVtek was awarded the Drone Innovation Award 2020. For his work in equipping nano-drones with unsurpassed capabilities.
“We are very proud of the fact that the bow was designed and built in the UK.” Said Howard Humphries, (CEO and Founder)
“This shows that the UK drone industry can produce world-class unmanned systems. We have great partners, including BAE Systems and General Dynamics, who work with us to develop the best possible technology for our forces. This is just the tip of the iceberg. By 2021 we will be releasing a full range of purpose-built UAVS for all aspects of military use. “
The Bug Nano not only offers unprecedented capabilities in this class, it can also beat its weight. Even at less than 200 grams, the Bug Nano has an eye in the sky that can fly in strong winds, withstand gusts of over 40 knots and sends back 1080p videos in full motion from 2 km away.
An impressive flight time of up to 40 minutes means greater range and the ability to fly more than three times longer than a Black Hornet 3 for a fraction of the price.
The core system developed for the bow is the first in a series of versatile and free airframes from UAVTEK that can be faster, weigh less, carry more and fly longer. Their unmanned aerial vehicles range from the 200 g heavy nano bows to a large 3.5 m long VTOL fixed wing and rovers.
Jenna Copley (finance director and founder) said
“One of the things that sets us apart is that UAVtek is the only vendor independent drone manufacturer in the UK. We use the same interchangeable ground controls and operating system for every UAV in the fleet, reducing training time and skill fading. ”
Despite the current pandemic, the bug is attracting considerable attention worldwide and offers front-line troops the cheapest and most powerful UAV in its class
