Uncover the brand new VECTOR-400 – Drones Information

UAV Navigation is developing an autopilot for UATs with specific functions such as sea skimming and navigation even without a GNSS signal.

This new autopilot fits into the global strategy of the Spanish company: Autopilots from
highest quality with the latest technology.

UAV Navigation has launched a new product called VECTOR-400, a compact autopilot
which was specially developed for aerial targets (unmanned aerial targets, UAT). It
has a robust housing and a military connector that withstands the toughest conditions
MIL-STD 810 and MIL-STD 461 environments.

“We wanted to develop a solution specifically for manufacturers of aerial targets,” said Tobias
Webster, managing director of UAV Navigation, β€œSo it was important for the autopilot to have the functions required for this type of UAV, such as: B. Sea skimming (extremely low flight) or the ability to navigate without a GNSS signal. ”

Thanks to its physical and logical redundancy, the VECTOR-400 can continue a mission
In the event of failure of the individual sensor and also in the event of congestion, the accuracy must be guaranteed
Assessment of posture and position. It has advanced stalling algorithms and the ability to perform an efficient glide maneuver in the event of an engine failure.

The VECTOR-400 uses an ADAHRS (Air Data Attitude and Heading Reference System) and
Inertial navigation system (INS) developed by UAV Navigation that offers high precision
Settings information that enables reliable navigation even under the most difficult circumstances. The AHRS offers the VECTOR-400 the possibility to work in GNSS-refused environments (less than 30 m / min drift) and to perform highly dynamic maneuvers.

β€œThe VECTOR-400 is not an isolated product, but part of our global strategy. Some of its main features, such as the execution of fully automatic functions or its compact and easy-to-integrate software, which also enables it to be operated in the event of a data link failure, are already used in other products in our autopilot family, such as the VECTOR-600 “, Webster explained.

In addition to its advanced technology, the VECTOR-400 benefits from the same strict quality standards that UAV Navigation insists on for all of its products. Before shipping, the company performs rigorous calibration processes and acceptance tests for each individual unit along with the individual certificate of conformity.

UAV Navigation has designed the VECTOR-400 to meet the MIL-STD 810 and MIL-STD 461 standards. The design and development of its software and hardware were carried out in
according to DO-178C, DO-254 and also ASTM F3201-16 – this is the only certification currently available for unmanned aerial systems.

β€œNot all autopilots can control highly dynamic platforms. Even less are able to perform advanced high-speed maneuvers and low-level flights such as flying over the sea. For this reason, we are extremely satisfied with this new product, which we believe fulfills a requirement on the market that has not yet been covered. Observed the director of the Spanish company.
