XTI Plane companions with VerdeGo Aero on the Hybrid-Electrical VTOL TriFan 200 Cargo/Logistics Plane – Drones Information

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – VerdeGo Aero of Daytona Beach, FL, and XTI Aircraft Company of Denver, CO, have partnered with the TriFan 200 program to address the need for fast, economical point-to-point transportation of cargo and logistics. XTI Aircraft, a leading supplier of next-generation VTOL aircraft, is developing the TriFan 200, a configuration similar to the larger TriFan 600 VTOL passenger aircraft already under development. VerdeGo Aero uses its highly efficient, low-emission diesel hybrid drive (Jet-A) so that the TriFan 200 can offer operators excellent operating economy.

When the program reaches commercial development and certification, the XTI TriFan 200 Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) aircraft will be an unmanned autonomous aircraft capable of carrying 500 pounds of cargo on missions greater than 200 nautical miles. With the TriFan 200, express logistics companies can quickly achieve “miles 1 to 20” when shipping urgent freight by quickly connecting global air freight hubs with distribution points in major cities. Land transport in heavily congested global cities currently takes up to 90 to 120 minutes so that urgent cargo can be transported between air freight hubs at major airports and in city centers. VerdeGo Aero’s diesel hybrid systems (Jet-A) offer the lowest operating costs and the greatest flexibility of use for next-generation electric aircraft. By combining the highly efficient 180 kW generator from VerdeGo with the high-performance battery pack from VerdeGo, aircraft such as the TriFan 200 can be operated profitably for fleet operators. The high efficiency of VerdeGo’s diesel hybrid generators helps reduce emissions and fuel consumption by 35% compared to conventional turbine drives, while reducing direct total cost of ownership by 40%. Using globally available Jet-A fuel eliminates the need for new infrastructure and aircraft using VerdeGo’s hybrid systems are ready for the Jet-A biofuel replacement currently under development.
